Another great video!. I am learning quite a bit of painting techniques from
you. Would you please keep the background music at a lower volume for your
next videos. The music drowns out your voice at times.

Thanks for a great tutorial. Are you using Vallejo model colour paints
through the airbrush? If so what are you thinning them with and to what
consistency? I thought that the standard Vallejo range would clog through
an airbrush due to its higher pigments.

@GermanPainter Airbrush thinners exist but they’re usually isopropyl
alcohol. Acetone will work – easily gotten in Nail Varnish Remover form.

What airbrush do you use?

@FOWJeff What model of Sogolee do you use? also do you use can propellent
or a compressor?
August 1, 2011 @ 7:52 pm
@crony5000 Frankly I’m not sure what model it is- I bought it on a
clearance rack with no packaging or documentation. Since then I’ve switched
to an Iwata HP-C Plus, which I absolutely love. I’ve always used a
compressor. If you do a fair amount of airbrushing, you’ll save money in
the long term. FYI I’ve also started thinning my paints with the Vallejo
Thinner- the stuff is great and drastically reduces paint separation. Good
luck to you and your airbrushing! 🙂

In your tutorial you say you use gloss varnish/matte varnish,Now is that
the vallejo paint ranges? or an aerosol canned paint? Also this is a great
tutorial!

regards to the pencil smudging. Thanks.

Use a mask if you spray varnishes or emanel paints.
July 13, 2013 @ 3:59 pm
When you add the glossy varnish coat and the matt coat, are you using
water-based coats? I have a number of Vallejo water-based paints but I have
some Testors gloss coat that I would like to use up. Would it negatively
affect any of the steps you demonstrate if I were to use the water-based
paints with an oil-based glosscoat and matt spray? Thanks!

Do you have to paint all the models to exact period specifications? I like
purple. does it matter if my tanks are purple?
