Amazon’s Retail Revolution Business Boomers BBC Full documentary 2014
Business Boomers Amazon’s Retail Revolution 2 BBC Full documentary 2014
This episode follows the fortunes of the ultimate online retail success story – a business that was born in a garage twenty years ago and grew into a 100 billion pound global giant. Along the way, the Amazon phenomenon has inspired, shaped – and sometimes squeezed – the rest of the retail sector, while revolutionising attitudes to online business and transforming the way people shop.
British people now do more of their shopping online than any other nation and in 2013, tens of millions of British customers used Amazon to buy 4.5 billion pounds’ worth of goods. The story of the growing use of Amazon is the story of the internet age.
Time and again, founder Jeff Bezos has moved the goalposts for many industries. Publishers, retailers and even the French minister of culture criticise Amazon’s practices and bemoan its sheer size, but Amazon defends its record for providing customers with choice and competitive prices. Furthermore, Bezos’ confidence in his mantra of ‘start with the customer and work backwards’ is already taking Amazon into new sectors – groceries, ebooks, film production, and cloud computing

That’s how business is, competition and satisfaction! People just go to the
shop and look at it go home and amazon boom. I do that and saves you money,
why pay a lot for a same product that is cheaper. No need politicians other
businesses to get piss off cause that’s how business is COMPETITION..

Fucking love Amazon. Modern, effective and cuts out the middle-man
shopkeeper that would otherwise raise the prices for the consumers.

Businesses are losing and customers are the winners by getting better deals
and convenient shopping,,, but the major goal of a company is to make
profit for shareholders who are financing the company to work, well if you
are still not making profit after nearly 20 years actually losing money
thats a big problem for investors and their patience will not last long

Amazon is a wake up call to the endless greed of Socialist countries.
Bottom line you must compete otherwise you’ll be left behind one way or
another. High taxes, greedy government, failed social programs all kill
jobs and business. You either evolve or die.

This documentary is so much better than CNBC’s. I love Amazon and It’s
revolutionary spirit but I really dislike Bezos. He irks me.

I hate Amazon. They are destroying family owned businesses, and STEALING
from the British, as they don’t even bother paying their taxes. You are an
idiot if you are British and buying on Amazon, sending British money to
America and to Bezos.

the most annoying part of this video is having to listen to British people
speak their version of English.
November 27, 2014 @ 6:03 pm
The guy interviewed is right, Amazon is not publisher centric, there
customer centric.

It’s ama-ZON not ama-ZUN.

i like Amazon. Yes, it caused many businesses to close, but it also gave
way for many more new businesses to emerge. And Im talking about small
businesses, small on-line stores. I own one such store, and I thank Amazon
for the opportunity. I have many British customers, by the way, and love
them. Thank you for your purchase.

Safe to say it was a very insightful documentary about how AMAZON became an
internet giant.
Glad I came across this documentary, the values of the company are
extraordinary.
I might have to adopt those one day.
Highly recommended watch for any Internet Entrepreneur

@goldsilverandiamonds
High taxes, greedy government, failed social programs all kill jobs and
business, these sound like a capitalist country.
You have completely disgraced and embarrassed yourself. You KKK whore
mother should have aborted you, what an embarrassment you are.

Wow it is NOT amazons fualt for selling things similar to what lush sells.
If a customer doesn’t have a decent brain enough to read what merchant the
product is really coming from then that’s their fualt 100% don’t blame
amazon for idiot customers.
December 30, 2014 @ 1:17 am
Amazon is a success story … !!!
January 1, 2015 @ 12:10 pm
wasn’t Mike Daisey the guy who made up a horror story about IPhone
production in China and tried to sell it as real?

I don’t want to like Amazon when where I live you can see the effect that
businesses like this have on the traditional town center, but Amazon have
never let me down… ever.
Also, I’ve read books that I’d never be able to get my hands on in the
past. The tiny little cosy book shop is great in theory, but when they only
stock 1000 titles… not so good.
January 4, 2015 @ 4:41 am
I think that was my copy of Mein Kampf
January 4, 2015 @ 5:24 am
Lush are rip-off artists anyway
January 4, 2015 @ 11:54 am
LOL, it’s not Amazon coming after your book shop, it’s the future.

I love Amazon! They have all the stuff that I can’t find in my country.
Even if I can find said items in my country, they’re way to expensive. So
yes Amazon is amazing.
