How to paint ghost flames with water based paint

In this video I demonstrate the process for creating a ghosted effect with water-based pearlescent paints. The most common application for this type of technique is ghost flames, and the painting that I do involves something of that nature.
I use auto air acrylics for this paint job, as well as an Iwata Neo airbrush and a Devilbiss paint gun. This particular piece is done with the pearlescent black paint. This created a very subtle effect. If you would like a more pronounced ghost effect I suggest that you use a lighter colour.
